Our latest market report

We recently produced the latest edition of our regular IT MSP Staffing Market Report. This report focuses on the trends we're seeing in one of our key markets: small and medium sized IT Managed Services Providers.
Here are some of the headlines: -
Overall headcount numbers steady
Median headcount growth over the 12-month period to August 2026 was 1%. A significant number of companies (42%) reduced headcount during the period but more (54%) grew.
Lots of recruitment driven by attrition
Although the headline growth number suggests low levels of recruitment activity, this doesn't tell the true story. Companies experienced on average 17% attrition, meaning they had to hire nearly 19 people per 100 heads of staff to achieve the median growth figure.
Demand looks to be accelerating
Bearing out a lot of the positive anectodal evidence we're hearing in the market, the numbers showed that as of August, 84% of MSPs were hiring and 40% of companies had seen headcount increases accelerating in the second half of the year.
Salaries remain a mystery!
Whilst we are strong advocates of salary transparency and always share full salary information on our adverts wherever possible, this is still not the norm when companies are advertising directly. A staggering 85% of MSP job advertising still does not carry salary range information.
