Sales Director

We are delighted to be working exclusively with this well-established, award-winning and highly ambitious provider of managed IT and Telecoms services, as they search for a new Sales Director.

​

The purpose of this role is to craft, deliver and manage a market-leading sales organisation that can deliver the company's next growth milestones.

​

The business has grown sigificantly over recent years, organically and via acquisition.  Their offering is broader than ever, as are the opportunities to build on a record 2024.  What they need now is a sales leader with vision and gravitas, who can put in place the right structures, processes and systems to maximise the performance of the enlarged sales teams.

​

The role reports to the CRO and manages four sales teams: SMB, Account Management, New Logo and Customer Success.  That's around 30 people via four direct reports.  You'll work closely with Marketing, Commercial and Propositions teams.  You'll decide the segmentation and vertical structure that best suits, gaining buy-in from the Board, and will implement and maintain the right sales processes and tools.  The business has undergone a major internal technology transformation, including a new CRM, and you'll oversee the best use of that and take advantage of the data available.

The role is huge in scope and opportunity and would suit a proven Technology sales leader who is capable of driving internal change, optimising a sales organisation and delivering major growth.

Sales Director - responsibilities

  • Set and agree sales targets in line with the company's ambitions

  • Create and execute strategic plans including a segmentation/vertical structure

  • Implement and maintain new sales methods and processes

  • Hands-on sales leadership including large strategic opportunities

  • Build and maintain first-class knowledge of the market and emerging trends

  • Analyse and address any white space

  • Adopt a data-driven approach including capitalising on the new CRM

 

Sales Director - requirements

  • Proven leadership of a sales organisations in a growing Technology company

  • The ability to structure and deliver a sales team that can drive double-digit growth

  • First class communication and influencing skills, internally and externally

  • Very strong, data-driven, analysis and strategic planning skills

  • High levels of commercial acumen and understanding of the technology market

  • Understanding of sales methodologies  - e,g, MEDDPICC

The role is based in Birmingham and follows a hybrid pattern, with the expectation of three days in the office per week.

​
