C++/Qt Software Developer

This is an unusual and interesting role, in a small and highly successful R&D-led technology business that’s excelled in its niche for nearly 30 years and has a client list boasting some extremely well-known names.

 

We are looking for an experienced developer to join two other talented, long-tenured engineers to work on a variety of projects around the company’s core product.These projects will typically be enhancements and new features for a system written in C++ and Qt that operates on specialised Linux-based hardware.

 

The role is perfect for someone with an engineering mindset, who loves solving problems and is happy working as part of a close-knit, highly collaborative team, on requirements that can be fluid and on tasks that benefit from in-person interaction.

Software Developer C++/QT – responsibilities

 

• Your core responsibilities will be coding in C++ and Qt, working on updates and new features for the company’s core product, and also no forthcoming new products.

• You’ll likely also get involved from time to time in other aspects of the company’s products, either their purpose-built hardware or their other software products (which are C# based).

• Being part of an engineering team of 4 people, you’ll be close to all sorts of aspects of the business and you’ll clearly see the benefits of your input from an early stage.

Software Developer C++/QT – requirements

 

• You’ll need strong experience in C++ development.Qt experience would be nice to have, but you can pick that up if needed.

• This role is based on-site, in our client’s pleasant, rural offices in Central Bedfordshire, so you’ll need to be commutable to there and happy to be there most of the time.
