The opportunity

Our client is a well-established, fast-growing and very ambitious business in the high-end retail eCommerce space.

In this role, you'll be focused initially in developing world-class in-house back-office systems that can support the business as it scales.  These systems will need to integrate with existing finance and CRM systems as well as with external partner platforms.

​

You'll be working in a small team, so will have the chance to make a big contribution from the start.  You'll be given plenty of responsibility and ownership and will quickly see the fruits of your labour in action.

​

There are two vacancies in the team.  We need one senior developer, who may take a Lead role, and one mid-level developer.

Duties

  • Front- and back- end development, server-side and Cloud (AWS)

  • Web application development

  • Integration with OTS finance/CRM and third-party platforms

  • Developing web services and API's

  • Working across the full tech stack and taking ownership of pieces of work

  • Solving a variety of technical and non-technical problems

  • Working collaboratively in a small Agile team using CI, automation

Requirements

  • Experience in Java development

  • Knowledge of Cloud services (ideally AWS)

  • RESTful API design & web services

  • Understanding of modern Javascript frameworks (React, Angular, Node)

  • Excellent problem-solving and team-working skills

  • Strong relational database experience (SQL, ORM, Hibernate, JPA ideally)
