Business Analyst

Windsor - hybrid available.            To £50k + benefits including share options

Business Analyst

We're really pleased to be working on an exclusive basis with a long-time client of ours on this brand-new Business Analyst role. The vacancy has arisen largely because the company is growing faster than ever, has new products on the horizon and is expanding in new markets, so it's an exciting - and busy - time to join.

Our client is a software company. They operate in a niche market - the Travel sector - and have a recognisable, international client base. Although the company is well established, they've remained reasonably small, so most of their roles tend to be varied and multi-faceted. This is great from a career development point of view and of course tends to suit candidates with a flexible outlook, who can pick up new concepts quickly and can thrive in a dynamic environment.

The role is based in Windsor. We'd love to find someone who enjoys being in the office daily, though hybrid working - a minimum of three days in the office per week - is available. Reckon on being in the office all the time for the first three months though, so you can be fully onboarded and supported when starting out.

Business Analyst - Responsibilities

The core of the role is focused on external customer projects and will include: -

  • Running meetings and workshops with new customers to gather their requirements

  • Working with a wide variety of stakeholders to fully understand clients' businesses

  • Mapping out processes and documenting requirements from what you've gathered

  • Preparing Statements of Work (the company has some great internal tools for this)

  • Capturing granular requirements to be fed back to PM and project team

  • Working between the end customer and the delivery team to ensure requirements are met

  • Preparing high quality handover documentation

In addition to BA work, you'll also become a Subject-Matter Expert in our client's software, especially incoming, updated versions, and will likely also be doing the following from time to time : -

  • Configuration of new users and permissions (you'll be trained in all of this, obvs)

  • Creating data tables, loading content

  • System testing

Lastly, some of your time will be internally-facing, providing BA expertise on internal projects: -

  • Capture and document requirements for new product developments and changes

  • Help with system testing and produce the appropriate documentation

  • Write and maintain release notes

Business Analyst - Requirements

We need to see candidates with a decent grounding as a Business Analyst as evidence of an aptitude for this kind of thing, but we don't need you to be hugely experienced - a couple of years would be enough.

What is just as important are your soft skills and approach to the job, i.e.: -

  • Excellent stakeholder communication and management skills

  • Highly articulate verbally and in writing with very strong attention to detail

  • Eager to learn and can pick up new concepts quickly

Any experience of working in the Travel sector would be a definite plus point but training will be provided if you don't have that.
