Technical Support Specialist - VoIP

This is an exciting and varied role, with one of our regular customers, who are a fantastic company to work for. The role is focused on supporting a leading VoIP platform, and is an interesting mixture of external customer support and support/administration of internal systems. This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who has experience of VoIP and Linux and wants to use both, or for an experienced VoIP engineer who wants to get involved in wider Linux and networking.

 

The role is hybrid, with up to three days per week working from home, and included participation in an out-of-hours (remote) support rota.

 

Technical Support Specialist - VoIP - responsibilities

·       Supporting b2b VoIP customers by phone, email and in person

·       Supporting back office systems

·       Participate in hardware and software upgrades and data centre visits

·       Network monitoring, fault management and failover plans

·       Responding to critical systems issues

 

Technical Support Specialist - VoIP - requirements

 

The following are essential: - 

·       Experience with VoIP and SIP

·       Knowledge of network protocols: as a minimum, diagnostic tracing of TCP/IP

·       Previous experience of 2nd/3rd line support of Telecoms services

 

These would be nice to have: - 

·       Linux or Unix experience

·       SQL Database knowledge

·       Experience with SS7, TDM or E1
