Cloud Security Architect - the opportunity
This is an exciting new role with one of our regular customers, a well-regarded IT MSP who are mid-way through an ambitious growth plan.
This particular role sits within the company's Cloud Delivery organisation and aligns to a relatively new area of their business: a Managed SOC, which is proving to be very successful and and is attracting a lot of interest from existing and new customers.
Our client is looking to hire an experienced Cloud Security Engineer or Architect who can design and develop client security architectures, frameworks and best practices, drive automation, provide expertise to the Cloud Operations team and participate in pre-sales activities. As a Microsoft Gold Partner, the company can provide excellent ongoing training and development, as well as access to the latest technologies.
Cloud Security Architect - responsibilities

Design & develop security architectures & best practices for Microsoft-centric cloud & on-premise solutions

Define & drive cloud security strategies/roadmaps, for both design and remediation

Support the wider business in the building of Cloud Security capabilities: new approaches, practices etc

Lead periodic security assessments, audits and architectural reviews

Work closely with vendors to design, build and optimise advanced detective and preventive security controls

Act as Subject Matter Expert relating to cloud security, automation and monitoring

Engage in pre-sales activities and onboarding of prospective SOC clients

Provide mentorship to the Cloud Operations team, including training, documentation and advice
Cloud Security Architect - requirements

In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of Azure cloud platforms

Proven knowledge and expertise in cloud security architecture

Good knowledge of cloud identity and access management tools, controls and technologies

Proven experience with SIEM (ideally Sentinel)

Good understanding of the workings of a SOC

Knowledge of the Mitre Att&ck framework

Relevant industry qualifications - CCSP, CISSP, CySA+ - would be useful

Microsoft certifications - AZ-104, SC-200, AZ-500 - also desirable, but training can be provided
